7:45 am – 2:00 pm
While restrictions on gatherings are in place, Day of Zen half-day programs will be offered online, via the Zoom conference platform.
For beginners, a Day of Zen Online with Michael Mugaku Zimmerman is an opportunity to learn about meditation in a supportive atmosphere for practice at home. For people familiar with sitting meditation (zazen), a Day of Zen will provide a space for deepening that practice. Meditation practice sitting in a chair is entirely acceptable. You will receive posture and breath instruction — the essence of Zen practice. Participants will:
- Engage in sitting and walking meditation.
- Listen to a Dharma talk and receive meditation instruction.
- Have the opportunity for an individual interview with the teacher (dokusan).
- Share lunch and sangha time online.
