Event Details

Rohatsu is a special time for all practitioners of Buddhadharma to commemorate the Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, December 8th.

You are warmly invited to join us online during our 24-hour Rohatsu Sit-A-Thon starting the morning of the 7th running through the morning of the 8th ending with observation of the Morning Star, as Siddhartha Gautama did 2500 years ago.

You can participate for any period of time that works for you. Join for any sitting periods, or come to the Dharma Talk. (We’ll provide a complete schedule when you donate.) We ask only that you make a generous donation toward our year-end goal of raising $15,000 to make up for some of the in-person programs we couldn’t offer during the pandemic.

Additional funding will also help us keep the Zendo open to the public for daily sitting in-person and online, and funds scholarships and discounted programs throughout the year for dedicated practitioners no matter their financial resources.

Even if you can’t participate in this event, please consider a donation in support of our mission: To provide Zen Buddhist teaching, practice, and study that appeals to a broad audience of people seeking to awaken and to manifest wisdom and compassion in their lives.

Please join our global sangha in this celebration of Buddha’s awakening, an awakening available to each of us.

Donate and join the Sit-A-Thon!
