Virtual Temple – Sit As A Mountain Sesshin
with Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Roshi
September 23 – 26, 2020
Via the Zoom Conference Platform

Deepen your sitting practice, connect with Sangha, and receive instruction from a transmitted Zen Teacher.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we continue to offer a robust online practice for the benefit and safety of all. Join Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Roshi for a four-day online meditation retreat. This sesshin is structured like the Virtual Spring Sesshin, with four sitting periods a day, including a Dharma Talk with Mugaku Roshi and embodiment sessions with Feldenkrais practitioners, Carl and Erin Rabke to support your physical practice.

SCHEDULE

Wednesday – Friday,  September 23 – 25
7:00 – 9:00 am MDT: Zazen (Wednesday first period is Orientation)
11:00 am – 1:00 pm MDT: Zazen & Dharma Talk
3:00 – 5:00 pm MDT: Embodiment and Zazen
6:30 – 8:00 pm MDT: Zazen

Saturday, September 26
7:00 – 9:00 am MDT: Zazen
11:00 am – 1:00 pm MDT: Zazen & Dharma Talk
3:00 – 5:00 pm MDT: Zazen and Close

Participants are asked to commit to the following ground rules:

  • You may set your own zazen schedule, but you must commit to at least one full sitting session each day on Zoom, not including the Dharma Talk period.
  • When you have set your schedule, we will ask you to show up on the Zoom platform each day according to the schedule you have planned in advance. You can always sit more, but not less. We will provide a method for you to submit your schedule in advance so that we know who to expect in the Virtual Zendo.
  • Sitting sessions consist of two or three 30-35 minute periods. As in the physical Zendo, you may enter a sit at the beginning of a session, or during a break between periods.
  • All participants must register for the program.

Your enrollment fee is a vital contribution to TAZ, now as always. The contribution to participate in the Virtual Sit As A Mountain Sesshin provides a small stipend for Mugaku Roshi and supports the infrastructure of the retreat. As usual, you will be given the opportunity to donate to the scholarship fund to support our young practitioners and the diversity of our community.
