Zen Study & Practice Series, Spring 2018 Telecourse
April 28 – June 30, 2018 (10 Classes)
9:00 – 10:15 am MT Via Zoom Conferencing
Traditions are the tried and true reserves of spiritual practice and study. Every detail within a tradition creates a reliable, durable, and trustable vehicle for our awakening. However, all traditions must be infused with innovation to stay alive. The universe itself preserves and as Alfred. B. Whitehead says, displays the “creative advance into novelty.”
Join Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei for a deep dive into the particularities of an integrally informed-Zen practice.
This session of our year-long course will be concerned with the practice of the Zen tradition and how advances in social psychology, evolutionary biology, and neuroscience must be included if our practice is to endure through the rapid changes of our time.
The supporting text for this course is “Integral Buddhism and the Future of Spirituality” by Ken Wilber. We will also reference authors Rick Hansen, Diane Hamilton, and others.
Class registration includes 10 classes with Musho Sensei and guest teachers Michael Mugaku Zimmerman and Rob McNamara.
Live participation is encouraged to engage fully and wholeheartedly in the course. If you cannot make a session or want to review previous classes, mp3 recordings will be distributed each week.
This Series will continue in Fall, 2018 with a second 10 class segment, September 15 – November 24.
