Zen Study & Practice with Diane Musho Hamilton Roshi & Rob Daishin McNamara
A Climate Change Inquiry
September 21 – December 21 (14 Classes)
9:00 – 10:30 am MT Via Zoom Conferencing
Special guests: Daniel Schmachtenberger, Dr. Zachary Stein, & Deborah McNamara
This telecourse will confront climate change and the challenges of talking together about it. We will explore the science, the emotions, the strategies, and the peril, and examine our experience based on first person, second person, and third-person perspectives.
Each week, in 90-minute sessions, we will explore one dimension of the conversation. We will also draw on participants’ experience and expertise including short, informational presentations with opportunities for questions and answers.
Meditation practice will be emphasized, as well as communication skills and compassionate, effective activity regarding our culture and systems, and the need for immediate personal and collective change.
Our hope is that the conversation will be deep, compelling, and broad, and will equip us to better support the conversations about climate that are happening all around us.
Live participation is strongly encouraged to engage fully in the course. If you cannot make a session or want to review previous classes, mp3 recordings will be distributed each week.
