With Diane Musho Hamilton Roshi
August 7-14, 2022
Two Arrows Zen, Torrey Utah

The mind of unity is easy to achieve;
it is the mind of difference that is difficult to attain.
–Zen Master Mumon
Our relationships are intimate–sometimes pleasurable, sometimes difficult. Practicing with them and developing our skills contributes to our ability to appreciate and value each other. The Zen of You & Me: the Practice of Relationship will be focused on exactly that.
Come to Torrey, Utah, August 7-14, for an exploration of community and interpersonal practice, led by Diane Musho Hamilton, Zen teacher and author of The Zen of You & Me: A Guide to Getting Along with Just About Anyone. The program features daily meditation, practice in communication skills, and working with how we experience and engage creatively with conflict.
The Zen of You & Me retreat will be in the heart of the red rock country of Southern Utah, at Two Arrows Zen retreat center in Torrey, Utah. The beauty of the land, the vastness of the sky, and the grounding presence of mountains and high desert makes the Torrey Zendo an exceptional place for deep and lasting transformational learning.
Now, maybe more than ever, is the time to include and work with our differences: Personality differences, gender differences, race and cultural differences, differences in assumptions, values, and beliefs. The Zen of You & Me week-long retreat in Torrey, Utah will give us access to unity and shared humanity, as well as offer skills for including our differences.
Our week together will include:
  • Sameness and difference in the body
  • Soothing through listening; energizing through expression
  • Looking at difference through a developmental lens
  • Meditation for deeper unity

We will practice skills that address difficult aspects of relationship because our differences offer a path to profound connection. We will find that “getting along” is really a matter of discovering that our differences are nothing other than an expression of our even deeper shared unity.
