The Third Treasure: The Practice of Community
Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei
August 8 - 19, 2018
Two Arrows Zen
57 South 300 West
Join Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei for The Third Treasure: The Practice of Community, a deep exploration into the intimacy of sangha and what it means to "be for each other."
We will meditate in the mornings and evenings, and in the afternoons, practice skills to strengthen our relationships and grow our capacity for clear, dynamic, and enlivening interactions in the context of a practice community.
Outings into the natural beauty of Capitol Reef National Park and other locations will be an essential part of your experience.
This is an essential Sangha Retreat for all formal students and for anyone who desires to practice in-depth with Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei. This retreat will feature elements of Zen practice and ritual training for senior monks, culminating in the Shiso Hossen and Dharma Combat ceremony on August 17.
Over the course of twelve days, Musho Sensei will engage the four pillars of Integral practice: cognition, meditation, shadow, and body. You will:
- Engage Zen meditation practice in the Torrey Zendo.
- Discover Integrally-informed relationship practices.
- Encounter the grandeur of Nature for healing reconciliation.
- Connect with a community of Integral practitioners dedicated to open, authentic communication.
- Experience one-on-one interviews with Musho Sensei.
- Enjoy delicious, healthy meals (with vegetarian options) prepared by our excellent kitchen.
This retreat is open to those who have attended at least one prior program or retreat with Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei, and who are familiar with and interested in the work of Integral writer and philosopher Ken Wilber. To inquire, please contact Julia Sati, admin(at)twoarrowszen.org for an interview.

If you have medically indicated dietary needs, such as strictly gluten-free or lactose-free, we ask that you inform us in advance. A limited selection of gluten-free bread and cereals will be available on request. A medically diagnosed allergy to seafood or nuts requires that you inform us, and maintain your own rescue medication, such as an epi-pen.
Refrigeration space is very limited and is not available for retreatant use, so please bring a cooler for your own items, including medications. The nearest full-service grocery is 18 miles from Torrey; there is a general merchandise convenience store just down the street.
WEATHER AND LOGISTICS
Summer is beautiful in Torrey. We will enjoy the longest days of the year, bright skies, and star-spangled nights. However, the day/night temperature swings in the high desert can be extreme. Always expect the possibility of rain and/or wind. Bring a water bottle, brimmed hat, good closed-toe hiking shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen, and clothing you can layer. You will get a complete gear list with your orientation letter.
Daytime outings may require driving up to a half-hour to the destination. Hikes are generally short and on moderate terrain. A hiking stick to navigate uneven ground may be helpful.
SANGHA HOUSE: Two Arrows Zen maintains a beautiful Sangha House in Torrey, within driving distance of the retreat site. Shared dormitory-style lodging is $30/night

Bedding, towels, and Internet service are included. The Sangha House is located about 3 miles from the Zendo and is a lovely bike ride, a 30-minute walk, or a 5-minute drive.
Priority for Sangha House reservations will go to participants attending the full 12-day retreat. 8-day participants may request space, but may not be confirmed before July 25.
Email admin(at)twoarrowszen.org to make a Sangha House reservation after completing your registration.
